The Association has several signature programs throughout the year which promote education, networking, community engagement, and the recognition of excelence. 

Monthly Meetings and Continuing Legal Education

We host monthly CLE opportunities for our members, some of which are virtual. We strive to provide a lunch option, including a vegetarian option, for our members during in-person events offered during the lunch hour. All CLE luncheon purchases are non-refundable. No credit can be given towards future meetings for missed meetings and no substitutions can be made. There are no exceptions to this policy.

CLE topics vary widely and are always relevant to government practitioners. Recent topics have included election law, cryptocurrency law, and antitrust law, as well as topics relating to administrative practice, litigation, and judicial procedures.

government attorney of the year award

The Florida Government Bar Association annually recognizes an exemplary lawyer in government practice with its Government Attorney of the Year Award.  The purpose of the award is to recognize an attorney employed in government practice, who has demonstrated professionalism in the practice of law and performed above and beyond the call of duty.  Past winners have headed multi-year litigation resulting in million of dollars in recovery for Florida taxpayers or responded in keeping with the best traditions of our profession to unspeakable acts of violence.
